Landcare in South Australia
Landcare brings people together to protect and care for the land, water, and nature that sustain us. Across South Australia, volunteers, farmers, schools, and local groups take action in their own areas - restoring habitats, improving soil and water health, and strengthening connected, resilient communities.
The Landcare Association of South Australia Inc. (LASA) strengthens this community-driven movement by providing advocacy, support, training, and connections with government, industry, and funding partners, helping members achieve lasting environmental outcomes.
What is a "Grassroots Community"?
A Grassroots Community is a group of people who organise and take action at a local level to address issues that directly affect them.
Communities are formed and led by ordinary members rather than external organisations or authorities.
Grassroots' people are driven by local knowledge, volunteerism, and a strong sense of community ownership.
